Coaching
Londubh Books offers coaching and mentoring services in both English and Irish. Writers may need just one session to focus on goals or a number of sessions of feedback, encouragement and advice.
Jo O’Donoghue is a highly skilled critic and editor with many years’ experience of developing writing projects of all kinds and seeing them through to publication. Clients can be sure of an honest but constructive critical opinion and if the book in hand is intended for publication, an eye to the market, current trends, competition and possible publishing outlets.

As part of the Foras na Gaeilge/Clár na Leabhar Gaeilge mentoring scheme for writers, Jo mentored a novelist, Niall Ó Siadhail and a non-fiction writer/memoirist, Sláine Ní Chathalláin. The process involved regular meetings to review progress, either in person or on Zoom. Mentor and writers alike saw the value of the feedback, the goal-setting and the encouragement writers received as part of the mentoring process. Working with the support of a competent mentor replaces the feeling of being at sea or overwhelmed that so many writers experience.
Niall Ó Siadhail is in the process of completing his first novel, Fánaíocht. Sláine Ní Chathalláin’s book, Nain, was published by Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne in autumn 2023.
